Family Recap for May 23, 2010

Here is the meditation verse for this week. We are into a new series called “Pillars of Spiritual Strength”. The third pillar is that of God’s faithfulness: Num 23:19 “God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”

Here the latest for Cleve and Donna concerning their Easter services and ministry in the local jail.

It seemed like an old fashioned "Homecoming" yesterday. That upbeat atmosphere was needed as we studied the 13th chapter of Revelation - a chapter known for it's doom and gloom.

The word "church" is the Greek word "ekklesia" and means "called out one, a local assemby of people for the purpose of worship." The word "church" is not used in the Old Testament but the concept is there which is carried on into the New Testament through the word "covenant." This was the focus of our attention yesterday.
